What is a Notary Public?

A Notary is a person who can administer oaths, solemn affirmations, the signing of affidavits or statutory declarations. A notary public may also certify documents to be true copies of the original. Sections 1, 3, and 4(1) of the Notaries Act (the “Act”) provide that notaries public are appointed for Ontario and may exercise their power with respect to transactions in Ontario.

What is the process for Romanian “Procura”?

When filling the Intake form, attach a Romanian template, if you have one. If not, we can draft it for you. After “procura” is issued in both English and Romanian, you may need to take it to the document authentication services to obtain an Apostile. Your procura needs an Apostile to be recognized in Romania as a valid document.

What constitutes a Certified True Copy?

When submitting an official document, you might need to keep the original and only submit a copy. Certification of the copy is essential to prevent falsification. Our services include verification that the copy is a true and accurate representation of the original document and has not been altered in any way, thus certifying it as a Certified True Copy.

When is a Commissioner of Oaths required?

A Commissioner of Oaths is necessary when an individual needs to make an official declaration, affirmation, or oral testimony. The role of the Commissioner of Oaths is to attest that the declaration or oath has been appropriately administered, without providing any opinion on the legal validity of the content declared. It is also essential for the Commissioner of Oaths to verify the identity of the person making the oath.
